Written by Ron Sokoloff

On Wednesday, February 17th from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. the South Carthay Neighborhood Association will host an informal dinner buffet (food provided by Maggiano's at the Grove)  for all residents at the Carthay Center Elementary School Auditorium.

This is your opportunity to learn about a pilot program which will be sponsored by Councilman Koretz to try to decrease speeding through the streets of South Carthay and eventually all residential neighborhoods in Council District 5( please see article on page 7 ).  We also will hear from representatives of the L.A.P.D. Wilshire Division, City Attorney’s Office, Fire Department and our Security Patrol who will be there to lend support for the new program.  Each of these representatives will have time to take questions and mingle with the audience. This is your opportunity to meet and talk with the following dignitaries:

 City Councilman Paul Koretz
L.A.P.D. Wilshire Division Capt. Eric Davis
L.A.P.D. Senior Lead Officer Adam Greene
L. A. Deputy City Attorney Capri Maddox
L.A.F.D. Captain Stacy Gerlich
Security Service Systems Representative Sam Sukai

Very important: if you will be attending, please RSVP so we know how much food to provide.  Please email or phone Association President Brad Kane at (323) 697-9840 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it no later than Sunday, February 14th.  Also if you are not able to walk or drive to the event, the Association will be providing car pool transportation.  Please contact Kelly deLaat at (323) 782-0734 to make arrangements.  Come join the fun and learn how to keep our neighborhood safe.  See you there!
